| The "Wright" Invention |
"The 'Wright' Invention" can be used in conjunction with The Case of the "Wright" Invention or as a stand-alone PBL activity. In it, students are challenged to create an innovation or invention that will help the Wright brothers make a smooth transition from their original place of business to their new business, The Wright Cycle Company. Their new booming business has taken the brothers by surprise, and the demand for their custom built bicycles has left them with little time to make the appropriate upgrades in their working environment. Students take on the role of an inventor and, as a team, must develop a plan and create an invention that will organize and store the many pieces and parts of the brothers' creations. The final products are to be presented to Wilbur and Orville Wright for consideration.
