Body System Booklet

Purpose: To learn about the five body systems

Teacher Note

This activity will take several class periods. Review body systems before creating the model.

Materials

Procedure

  1. Create a body booklet by either having your partner trace the outline of your body onto butcher-block paper or draw a body shape on large construction paper. Use the original outline as a template to trace and cut 5 more shapes.
  2. Use the following web sites to access information about the body systems. You will find information as well as a diagram that students can use to put on their body shapes:
  3. Research each system.
  4. Draw and label each system onto the body shapes, one shape per system. The sixth body shape will be used for a cover.
  5. Complete the cover by drawing in facial features and clothes and color.
  6. Exchange body shape booklets with another group and use the following rubric to access their project
Rubric (5 is the best score):
